n our previous blog post titled “October Immunity Booster: Coconut (Part 1),” we discussed how coconut grows in “Aakash Mahabhuts,” or space, and therefore contains a higher concentration of “Aakash Mahabhut” elements. This makes it particularly effective in treating body parts that are predominantly composed of “Aakash Mahabhut,” namely the head, ear, intestines, and bladder.
In this blog post, we will explore the specific benefits of coconut for the intestines and bladder. Coconut is white in color and rich in fiber and water, which helps balance Pittah and water levels in the body.
During the warm October months, it is recommended to consume coconut in three forms:
- Grated Coconut
- Coconut Water
- Coconut Milk
Ayurveda recommends against consuming raw fruits.
Therefore, Ayurveda does not advise drinking coconut water from unripe coconuts, which are commonly sold on the streets.
In October, it is advisable to consume coconut water from ripe coconuts daily. It contains a balanced composition of electrolytes, which helps maintain water and electrolyte equilibrium in the body, promoting overall health.
Coconut milk possesses cooling properties and helps balance Pitta in the body. Incorporating coconut milk into various recipes, such as Solkadhi and curries, is beneficial for maintaining health.
I would like to share some valuable information regarding combating the intense heat of October. As experts in the field, we recognize the importance of maintaining optimal health during this challenging season.
One effective strategy involves incorporating coconut into our daily diet in various forms.
In the morning, on an empty stomach, it is recommended to consume grated coconut with raisins and sugar. This combination provides essential nutrients and energy to kick-start the day.
Additionally, drinking coconut water and coconut milk from ripe coconuts on a regular basis can help replenish electrolytes and maintain hydration.
It is noteworthy that in the Hindu tradition, Lord Ganesha is often depicted consuming Modaks, a sweet delicacy made primarily from coconut. This culinary practice holds significance as coconut is considered an immunity booster during the month of October.
Therefore, I strongly encourage everyone to embrace coconut as a daily dietary supplement to enhance overall well-being and resilience during this season.
